Where You Can Find Harmony

THE GREATER OZARKS CHAPTER of the Barbershop Harmony Society is based
in Bentonville, Arkansas, and is made up of all sorts of gentlemen. We are joined by
working men, high school students, professionals as well as retired individuals. And we
all have one thing in common - a love of music and our desire to sing in
harmony with others. There's also a little ham in us
because we truly get our kicks when singing for others, be it a group of senior
citizens in a retirement or nursing home, a pretty lady when we deliver a
singing Valentine, a classroom of students or for an auditorium full of patrons
at our annual show. Some brave souls even love singing to a panel of judges in chorus
or quartet competition.

Whatever your singing ability or interests, come give us a tryBut we caution you - it
can be habit-forming.  We meet every Thursday
evening at 7:15 p.m. at the Benton county Senior Activity and Wellness Center,
3501 SE "L" Street, Bentonville, AR.  For
more information, call Ed Downey, (479) 855-0854.

The Greater Ozarks Chapter is presenting an afternoon of
song and entertainment commemorating the seventy-five year history of the
Society.  Featured will be the 2006
International Champion Quartet, Vocal
, 2013 International Semi-finalists, Premium Blend, the combined choruses of Joplin, Springfield and
Greater Ozarks, and more.  The
performance will be held at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E Lancashire
(Hwy 340) at 2.00 p.m.  Tickets are $15
in advance or $17 at the door and may be purchased at selected branches of
Arvest Bank or by phoning 1 (877) 993-7464 (toll-free).

Although our main emphasis is on harmonious singing
and entertaining the public, we also promote singing among the youth in our
region.  Over the past years we have
donated some 7,000 song books "Get America Singing Again" to elementary schools
in the area, performed for school assemblies, supported area-wide choral
programs and conducted several "Youth-In-Harmony" clinics for  high school boys and their music
educators/choral directors.  Most
recently we held an all-day clinic Saturday, Sept. 7th at the Benton
County School of the Arts High School with 50 young men from as far away as
Lamar, MO and Berryville, AR participating along with their choral
directors.  The clinic was conducted by
Jeff Veteto, director of the Springfield "Sho-Me Statesmen" barbershop chorus
and assisted by the current Central States District collegiate quartet
champions "The Brovertones" from Kansas and Missouri.
